How does TROC work?
TROC is a barter platform where you list items you no longer need and browse what others are offering. When you find something you want, offer one of your items in exchange — or, for giveaway listings, simply ask for it. If the other person accepts, you agree on a time and a public place, meet up and complete the swap.
Is TROC really free?
Yes. TROC is free to use: there are no listing fees and no transaction fees. A free account can have up to 4 active listings at a time.
How do I know if someone is trustworthy?
Every user has a profile with reviews from previous exchanges. You can see their history, ratings, and feedback from other community members. We also have email verification and in-app messaging to help build trust before you meet.
What if the item isn't as described?
We encourage detailed descriptions and multiple photos for every listing. Before confirming an exchange is complete, make sure you're satisfied with the item. You can leave honest reviews to help the community make informed decisions.
Can I ship items or is it only local meetups?
For now, TROC focuses on local meetups — you arrange to meet your exchange partner in person to make the swap. Shipping options are coming soon.
What kinds of items can I exchange?
Almost anything. We have 13 categories including fashion, electronics, home goods, books, sports equipment, toys, and more. As long as it's legal and in usable condition, you can list it. Check our terms of service for the full guidelines.
